OUR PROCESS
Here is a quick tour of the refinishing process we use to create durable, like-new surface. Please call the office if you would like more specific information on our process.
Scrape, Sand and Acid Wash:
All soap scum, residue and adhesives need to be removed from the surface.
Remove Equipment, Faucets and Fixtures:
Pre-existing shower doors, towel racks, faucets, drains and other bathtub equipment is removed to prevent damage.
Tape-Off Surface:
Once the surface is prepped, the surrounding area is masked off to prevent any overspray or splattering to nearby areas.
Install Ventilation System:
A ventilation system is installed in the room to remove any odor during the coating process.
Alcohol Wash Tub:
An alcohol wash removes dust and particles which may have come into contact with the surface.
Priming the Tub:
Once prep work is complete an epoxy primer is applied to help the coating bond to the existing surface.
Coating:
We apply a topcoat containing 3-layers of acrylic urethane, leaving your surface with a bright, high-gloss finish.
Polish Fixtures:
Bathtub Made New goes the extra mile by polishing your fixtures to give your tub a finished look.
